In the last few weeks I've been painting some panels with signage and images I found on walls on my trip to Merida, Mexico. (Even the fragments of posters are Mexican.) Now I'm going to start composing some "patchwork paintings" using these panels. I have no idea what is going to happen - watch this space.
Last night the monthly Dr Sketchys event at 111 Minna St. in San Francisco featured girls on bikes as our models for the evening. How could I resist?
The models were avid bicyclists and one had built her own bike from scratch. It was a fun evening, helped along with great music and a bar. Here are a couple of quick drawings from my sketchbook.
A big "Thank You" to everyone who came to see me at Open Studios. It was a fun weekend and I enjoyed chatting to you all. At the end of every Open Studios weekend all the artists in 1890 Bryant St. gather for our traditional photograph taken in the freight elevator. This year there were so many participating artists we had to spill out into the corridor as you can see above. The photo was taken by one of the artists in our group Jeremy Sutton. Thanks Jeremy!
